Verona

Famous for being the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the balcony overlooking a courtyard which is said to be Juliet’s house, is a busy tourist hub. Otherwise the city of Verona is a delightful and tranquil break from many of the larger, bustling Italian cities. It’s an easy wander through the cobbled lanes of the old, medieval town and along the winding Adige River.
